   About Napoleon IIIrd

A one-man pop machine and his reel to reel, Napoleon sometimes conducts his live experiments in surround sound and other times, does not. Sometimes he has a band, sometimes he does not. He is however, always happy to hear from you........... ...

Oh and by the way it's IIIrd, not III or 111 or 3 for that matter and the extra 'rd' is to distinguish him from both the real III and his childhood dog of the same name.

So there.

"Margarine was invented by the French chemist Hippolyte Mège-Mouriès at the demand of emperor Napoleon IIIrd 1869 as a cheap replacement food for his troops. Its use spread rapidly as a butter substitute, with the first factory in Oss/Netherlands exporting approximately 40 000 tons of margarine to Great Britain in 1883."-Fact.

Hi,

I'm happy to announce that my new album "Songs From The Films Of David Lynch" is out now.

"Truly unsettling and perplexingly brilliant... testament to both the quality of Lynch’s soundtracks and Truax’s talents" - The Skinny

Lynch Album Cover Medium jpg

"Truax is paying homage to a kindred spirit with this album. It's the best kind of tribute – affectionate and respectful, but with its own quirks and imaginative leaps and its own distinct identity." -The Scotsman

"Great stuff." -Buzz Magazine

Don't you think that Napoleon 111rd Looks a lot Like Gary Oldman? He was actually considered one of the first modern Rulers because of his social reforms.

The debut album by St. Gregory Orange is out now for the very reasonable sum of £5. We could tell you it's amazing (because it is) but look at what other people have said about it:

'We could do with more individualists like St Gregory Orange.' 8/10 This Is Fake DIY

'A unique sort of mad-professor' Sheffield Music

'A 20 something Adrian Mole doing Four Tet' 4/5 The Beat Surrender

'A slow motion dream' 3.5/5 Manchester Music

So go on take a chance and if you like tell your friends

Damo Suzuki is a legend! Best known for his stint as the legendary Krautrock pioneers Can as their singer in the 70s, Damo now tours the world to hook up with the best of local musicians to produce stunning sets of improvised music. We cannot stress how good this will be enough - you’ve never experienced anything like a Damo Suzuki show before, even if you’ve been to a Damo Suzuki show before! This extra special show will see Damo backed by the collective brilliance that is Quack Quack and Napoleon IIIrd.

Quack Quack simply the best live band Forest of Sound have ever seen - so much energy, so much musical invention, so much skill... well, it's almost obscene.

One man empassioned alt-pop legend with his reel-to-reel tape player, Napoleon IIIrd is a man of skewed melodies, bouncing beats and a big bucket of inventiveness... and is simply ace.

Friday: 13/3/2009 @ The Brudenell, Leeds. Doors 7.30pm.
A Forest of Sound presentation. £6 adv / £7 on the door.
Tickets available at Jumbo Records, Crash Records, and We Got Tickets.
