About me:

I am a pseudo intellectual artist drummer nihilist. I make marks on canvas and paper. I play drums for Serpentine Smile, Kitty and the Can Openers, Duchampions, The Do Rightlys (i think), Geoff Gatt, Notions Wilt (wilted),Coconut Squash (in my head),Dom O'Neill and the Protestants (rumours of a reformation), Geoff Gatt and the Meanwolves (though scattered across the globe). I used to play for Muinzer black, Mongrel Soya Children, Fetish, Sarah Lyle and Mitches Bitches aka Juju Hounds. I'm a drum whore.

Some quotes from Jackie Brown:

Winston: [Phone rings] Bail bonds.
Ordell Robbie: Yeah, Max there?
Winston: He ain't here right now, man.
Ordell Robbie: Well, where he at? Out of town?
Winston: He's AROUND, man.
Ordell Robbie: Well, gimme his home number.
Winston: No, I'll give you his BEEPER number.
Ordell Robbie: All right. Break off the beeper number, nigga.

Cockatoo Bartender: What's your drink, brother?
Ordell Robbie: Ah, let me have a screwdriver, homes.
Cockatoo Bartender: What about you?
Jackie Brown: Oh, I'm fine.
Cockatoo Bartender: Yes, you are.
[the Bartender leaves. Jackie and Ordell both laugh]
Ordell Robbie: Goddamn, girl, you come in here on a Saturday night, I bet you need nigger repellant to keep them motherfuckers off your ass.

We received your imaginative band bio and are very grateful! We might leave the last line as is, who knows?

But! More spam:

This gig is to raise money for the Theatre Knights' performance of Reservoir Cats, an all-female version of Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs which will be performed in Belfast's The Black Box from 13th-16th May. The play will in turn be donating profits to the Belfast Rape Crisis Centre which has been in danger of closure since the Government withdrew funding.

Apr 24 2008 6:29 AM

Hello Bongo,

Good to hear from you!
I've been playing the drum set for over 30 years. In my early 20's, a band needed percussion, so I bought some congas. Soon after, the bongos came. Someone once shouted out "Bongo... ...John" at a show and the nickname stayed with me.

Thanks again,

"Bongo" John

what took me to the fair was the mid-set raffle draw. someone really should have explained to the organisers that you’re only supposed put the stubs of the sold tickets in the hat! "who's got 216? no? nobody? okay, who's got 458? no takers? 125?" and so on…

that reminds me though, you won something, didn't you? did you get anything nice?

seriously though, despite the difficulties your performance was great.
It was worth waiting through the longest pub quiz in history for! :)

My god man you must have a gig 12 nights a week! Who is your main band then or do you have one? I suppose you get a lot of clashing gigs mucker! The Clashing Gigs that would be a great name for a band!!
