The “Bongoloverz” project was established in July 2002 by Cologne Djs/producers Groovemaster K. & Daniel Garcia, together with Multi-instrumentalist Alexander Klaus. All had already made a name for themselves on the international house scene with their previous productions and remixes for such record labels as Work Records, Caus-N-Effect, Clubstar and Conya. Many of the first Bongoloverz productions, such as “Salida del Sol”, “Under the Ground” and the three “Funky Traxx” club series, immediately made it into the DJ Mag UK Hype Charts. Remix work for Jamie Lewis, DJ Pippi (“Impress Me”) and Francesco Farfa (“Universal Love”) to name just a few followed soon after.
In october 2004 the Bongoloverz reached their up to then most important station in their career. In conjunction with vocal artist, Anton “An-Tonic” Eldridge from Detroit, they released the single, “Power of Music” on Brian Tappert’s legendary Soulfuric label in the US, which for many years has enjoyed the highest international standing with its many releases by such artists as Jazz’n Groove, Soulsearcher, Ron Carroll, Copyright, Axwell and Cleptomaniacs. “Power of Music” reached No. 1 in the DJ Mag UK Hype Charts and was part of the playlist of every famous House DJ worldwide.
Other releases on Soulfuric Records like "Spirit of House", "La Esperanza", "Cheza" or „The Ministers" made sure that the name "Bongoloverz" was counted to the world wide top House Producers. Every release was placed in the top 10 of the Traxsource Download Charts, which meanwhile established itself as the most important House Charts worldwide. The licensing on big compilations like Buddha Bar, Hed Kandi, Bargrooves, Defected-Wax-War, Big City Beats, In Bed with Space or Ministry of House (Housesexy) followed.
Because of this awesome success it was not a surprise that artists and labels like Bellini, Angie Brown, Blank & Jones, The Layabouts, Justin Michael, Milk and Sugar, Jamie Lewis, Franseco Farfar or Yves Murasca reverted to remixes from the Bongoloverz.
After some really successfull collective gigs in their home town cologne and in cities likes Hamburg, Zürich, Warschau or Miami, the two Bongoloverz DJs Daniel Garcia and Groovemaster K. decided to choose a common way in the DJ scene to inspire the house community consistenly a new with the distinctive drifty sound from the Bongoloverz DJ sets.
