Bonjour Monsoon emerged from the kitchen in Nick and Zane's flat from the deep heart of Christchurch's Riccarton. Blessed with a vast musical knowledge but an incredible lack of skill ‘the Monsoon’ materialized in the public with their bongo wielding performance at the 2006 RDU Roundup competition. The band, unprepared for a crowd so deeply unwillingly to hear such amateurish music refocused, now practicing with a borrowed drum-kit, in an industrial storage unit with far too many bass amps. If Bonjour Monsoon wants to reflect anything it is that in a day in age in which the talented pimp their wares with boring music there will always be a sub-culture to remind them that the best music is made by retards. We are Christchurch’s retards.
