Bonnie started studying music at age four and wrote her first songs when she was 10 years old. She went to New York's High School of Performing Arts and Juilliard School for acting, and got a Master's degree in creative writing from the Iowa Writers' Workshop before finally setting her sights on a music career when she moved to Berlin in 1992. After touring extensively for several years, she went on a Merkabah meditation weekend in Germany and began a spiritual journey that utterly changed her songwriting. In 2003 she went to Los Angeles to record an album with world-class musicians, including Jim Cox (Ringo Starr, Mark Knopfler), Greg Liesz (Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow) and Dan Higgins (Vonda Shepard), among others. But before she could finish the recording, a long-hoped-for dream came true: Bonnie became a mother. After a few years' break to bring up her daughter, Bonnie completed the LA album - now titled "Spiral" - in Munich. In 2009 Bonnie moved back to the U.S. after 17 years abroad. She lives in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

I was just triping in and out of your page as usual when I'm afraid I knocked over a noisy thing so before it claters on your floor I'd just like to say in my defence that your songs are so atractive I feel compeled to come and listen, I think it's that "wings in my pocket" one that does the dammage,so, "Break a machine Nut" as those musicians like to say.
Thank you sincerely for being a friend to our collection of songs. It's always a joy to know that a fellow musician has listened and connected with what they've heard. We hope the summer has been good to you and that the end of the year brings rewarding experiences in your art and life. Peace, Backlight Records
