The “Bonobo Club” is a virtual room inhibited by traditional instruments and vocals. It is a hybrid music melting the boundaries by subtly editing the ad lib, by using electronic means to alienate and restructure the composed material to end up in sounds not to be identified. "A lot of styles and genres are used: rap, jazz, Spanish guitar music. A track in the swing tradition invokes nostalgia, space sounds appear from and disappear into the great unknown. Nevertheless the music is not overloaded or directionless but is showing a homogeneous picture sporting grooves and a grin on the face" 1999 Michael Scheiner wrote in Jazzpodium in a review of debut cd "Bonobo Club" - besides Archie Shepp, Jean-Paul Bourelly, Mike Westbrook the first German act signed by PAO records. In december 2007 the 2nd album titled "Solatitut" is distributed digitaly. With regard to live perfomance: “Bonobo Club” is a studio project. But in the year 2000 "Bonobo Club" performed live with Sam Leigh Brown (N.O.H.A., Frank Popp Ensemble) vocals, Reiner Witzel (Defunkt, Fela Kuti) saxofon, Roland Peil (Die Fantastischen Vier) percussion, Bernd Renn mix 'n' fx, and initiator Heiner Rennebaum playing guitar. In 2003 he synchronised video projection to the computer generated sounds performed on stage with Roland Peil and Bernd Renn plus the singer Inga Lühning and Thomas Heberer on trumpet. “This is no jazz, no rock, no dance and no pop. The better!” (Ralf Dombrowski, Amazon review)
