Hello ~ thank you for being a friend of Moon Warriors.
I am drumming up signatures for 14 petitions to stop the gassing of healthy, loving animals in the USA, so please visit my blog and sign them!

This video shows what can be done ~ it is not necessary to kill so many animals, nor kill them in an inhumane manner

Cat House on the Kings Cat Sanctuary ~ amazing video

Close kill shelters and start sanctuaries - click here to sign petitions

Please visit the blog and sign petitions to end the animal gas chambers.
There are 14, if you could sign at least some of them that would be great ~ Have a good weekend ~ Thank you for helping animals

Apes in the wild have language and it takes only a small leap of imagination to try to give them a second, human, language. For over forty years researchers have been trying to do this with increasingly good results. Our language, when it is passed on to a different species, becomes a new language. PrimatePoetics is born from the realization that this language should be appreciated in its own right, as the greatest revolution in literature since the invention of written Chinese 4000 years ago. 'PrimatePoetics is Here' is the first primer to this new field. It explains where it comes from, it gives an overview of the field on an ape-by-ape basis and closes with an extensive anthology of relevant scientific and artistic sources. But most of all 'PrimatePoetics is Here' hopes to give a feel for the outsider charm of the language of the apes.

About me:

This site is up to allow friends and enthusiasts to peek into the birth of an amazing communication initiative with intelligent animal life. As the final touches roll out, our non-profit site will be available.

Photobucket

Connecting Us/them:

Co-Founder and legendary musician Peter Gabriel pioneered the idea of internet tools for intelligent animals over 7 years ago. His vision now unites technology, scientific respect, and amazing animal sanctuaries for a new frontier of communication.

After many years of brainstorming, this group unites to provide human "tools" to animal friends...these tools are in fact interactive media 'kits'. The hope is to give primates, dolphins, and elephants an opportunity to engage in 'chatting' with other species via net...or even to chat with their own species from another location. Co-Founder Dr. Sue Savage Rumbaugh has been online for sometime with her beloved bonobos. Through lexigrams, touch screens and phone lines, Kanzi and Panbanisha have talked to Savage-Rumbaugh for years....they also would call up their family members in other buildings too!

Now, we are able to integrate the existing aptitude learned in captivity (ex: Kanzi and Panbanisha) with the undiscovered frontier (animal species encountering the tools for the first time). The 'how' and with what "language" remains open and to be observed and recorded.

Initially, an original design media platform will give each species choices.

Take primates for example, primates in sanctuaries can use touch screens to select images and symbols while watching a screen of their 'friends' responding. Or, the primates can choose to vocalize to communicate, like the bonobos often do across enclosures. Finally, the primates can touch another image to choose friends of other species and vice-versa(elephants or dolphins, and human friends). Eventually, there will be multimedia choices available for viewing/listening choices. That choice would allow the primate to observe, learn and communicate with other engaged participants. The choice to engage is theirs.....creating the opportunity to engage is the human element.

The goal of this non-profit is to bring much deserved respect and attention to those animals who communicate in highly intelligent circles. It is often thought that the human is the species with the bigger better tools....why not let our animal friends use them to let us understand. With that goal in mind, we hope to learn from them, listen to them, and act for their welfare.

They are talking....We are listening.

Dolphin Communication

One the focuses this time, as a more inclusive group, is to examine the highly evolved network of Dolphin Communication....in bringing this exciting piece to greater audiences, the plight of the dolphins will be of paramount concern. Diana Reiss, PhD, offers us a chance to take a better look at dolphin intelligence so that we can listen up and do more to help.

"We are in communication with an animal nation"
