About me:
Manic D Press was founded by Jennifer Joseph in 1984 as an alternative outlet for young writers seeking to bring their work into print. We are an award-winning literary press based in San Francisco, California publishing fiction (novels and short stories), poetry, art, comix, cultural studies, and alternative travel books. We represent a diverse group of unique writers and artists, with emphasis on those who have been shunned by the traditional publishing establishment for lacking commercial viability, regardless of their talent or future promise. Manic D Press books are distributed to the trade throughout the US by Consortium, Last Gasp, SPD, and all major wholesalers. Canadian distribution: PGC, and UK / European distribution is through Turnaround. Visit

Who I'd like to meet: People who love reading books, talking about books, trading books, reviewing books, turning books into movies, turning books into tv shows, turning books into other books.
Hi! Thanks for the add! My life resembles some of the poetry from Michelle Tea's book, The Beautiful, only a bi- male version with a totally different family and different personal life and experiences. I take inspiration nonetheless (don't think that was her intention), and I appreciate the introduction to her work and your press a couple years back at the NY Small Press Book Fair. Happy 25th!
I’m reading on the Moe Green Poetry Hour (www. blogtalkradio. com/onword) tomorrow at High Noon (CST). If you can’t catch it live, it’ll be available on the show’s archives.
