BOOT50.
Named after the number of football boots youd find on a football pitch, this
Essex band have experienced their fair share of ups n downs: house fires,
death of the original guitarist, stolen equipment, lost recordings, if it could
happen to them it has happened.
A power-punk, indie
sound, With influences including The Who, Feeder, The Rolling Stones and
Supergrass, the band came onto the scene with the release of their first single
POPSTARS
[Pulse Records
PR001].
Greeted with huge acclaim, Drowned in Sound quoting it as debut single
Popstars is the emphatic gusto sounds of celebration, of endless rohypnol-spiking
parties, and of the almost-careless-abandon of leaping into a gaudy-ornate
dontcha go f**kin near it rollercoaster,
BOOT50
found themselves opening the late John Peels Radio show on two separate
occasions.
BOOT50
have purveyed their power pop in local and London venues and festivals,
ultimately resulting in an invitation to play 3 showcase gigs in New York and LA
before passport difficulties put paid to it. However, passports resolved, the
boys have recently been out to New York to spread the
BOOT50
word with CMJ promotions and Warner Bros.
Early March 2005
saw the release of 2nd single ANABOLIC, an
infectiously catchy, quirky slant on being something youre not. Packed with 3
extra new tracks, the single confirmed
BOOT50s
growing reputation as new boys on the block with a new sound complementing
classic songs.
