Influences
A good night's sleep and full stomach are very influential elements.
Musically it's a tie between the following artists:
- Winger
- Hanson
- The Shaggs
- Kajagoogoo
- Spookytooth
- The Wiggles
- and The Hooters
(that pretty much sums up all the funny band names I could list off the top of my head)
Where to see us
We'll send out bulletins and post our appereances up here as they come, but here's where we've been performing and/or trying out some of our new material over the last year or so.
Lately we've been performing regularly at GL Shack's in Catonsville on Frederick Rd. (next to McDonald's) and Morsbergers also on Frederick Rd. near Bill's Music House as well as several private parties over the last several months.
We've also played the Golden Bar and Grill, Judge's Bench and The Phoenix Emporium in Ellicott City.
You may also have seen us at UMBC when we performed at a charity event for Habitiat For Humanity in the spring of 2006 with our good friends Red Sammy
We have also performed at the Red House Tavern in Canton at their open mic night.
Sounds Like
We only sound like ourselves - and that's the truth!
The Bootcher boys have taken the art of playing cover songs to a whole new level by butchering them like no one else.
Some of the songs we Bootcher:
Blitkreig Bop, Pour Some Sugar on Me, You Spin Me Right Round, Hit Me Baby (one more time), Margaritaville, Our Lips Are Sealed, You're The One That I Want, and so much more!
Disco favorites sung as ballads, adding kazoo to Freebird, and playing a few classics including Yellow Submarine that no one else performs are what makes Bootcher a must-see band that is surprising and entertaining.
Bootcher pays tribute to Budweiser - The king of Beers.
Our AMAZING Story
Chuck grew up on the not-so-mean streets of Catonsville which is what made him the tallest member of the band - something to do with gangs and basketball. He also owns an acoustic guitar and has lots of friends who come to our shows so combine that with his towering height and we naturally chose him to sing most of the songs.
Wayne decided on a whim to take up electric guitar in his 30s. "I had a wah-wah pedal and decided I needed something to connect to it. The whole guitar-player thing just kinda happened!" He also owns the van so when he hits a bad note, just say to yourself, "It's okay, because he brings the PA gear."
Mike is the in the band because he's hot. There's really no two ways about it. He's a good looking guy and every band needs someone hot. He used to play a 32 piece drum kit but over the years has gotten lazier and lazier. These days he often just shows up at a gig with a snare drum and MAYBE a cymbal but that's okay because as I said, he's hot.
Joe is our newest member - but we've known him a long time and played with him in the past. When Joe took up bass, he proved he could sing and play at the same time which made us automatically put him in the the same class as Sting and Geddy Lee. Of course those guys are taller than Joe...and richer...and better looking...but they don't get all of Chuck's jokes like Joe does.
About our name: We have been told that we butcher songs. And the truth is, we do! So why not butcher our name? Bootcher - (don't forget the umlaut which I haven't figured out how to add here in html) is the butchering of the word "butcher" and we have now adopted it as our last names.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Morsebergers show. Loved the way the Kazooz were held up like lighters to illuminate the appreciation of "Freebird" It put a small tear in my eye for a moment.
