With prolific lyrics and intriguing melodies, Bo Rains' debut album, Scarecrows, has garnered a great reaction from the public. Songs such as "Brave New World" and "Cold Hotel Room" introduce an eclectic cast of characters struggling with modern life while songs like "Try to Hold On" and "Scarecrows" provides a glimpse into Bo's personal experiences. The title track received an Honorable Mention Award in the 14th Annual Billboard World Songwriting Contest.

Bo has been performing live in a variety of venues along the east coast for the past year. Her live show includes playing solo with keyboard or guitar to also incorporating a laptop, drum machine, and more to create a unique performance. She recently added "tap-style" acoustic guitar playing to bring another dimension to her show. Most recently, Bo was named a "Stand-out Performer" in the Philly Rising Competition at World Cafe Live and performed at the Bob Dylan Concert at Jones Beach Theater in New York.

At age four, Bo began taking piano lessons, and it became quite clear she was musically talented. She began writing songs in elementary school, began teaching herself guitar at age eleven, and started performing in talent shows by age twelve. Bo then began playing in assorted local bands and performing at school shows, competitions, and various clubs in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area.

After high school, she headed up to New York to develop her craft and pursue her music career. Bo teamed up with New York producer/engineer, Gary Filadelfo (Dream Theater, Mark Anthony, Third World), and released her debut CD entitled Scarecrows; a collection of pop-alternative songs.

Due to the response of her live show, Bo recently released a new album entitled, "SoloAcousticLive", in February 2008. The album features new songs, as well as, solo arrangements from her debut release.

It's amusing how I found your music. I was actually searching on Itunes for a song I played in wind ensemble called "Among the Clouds" and guess what popped up :) of course I had to buy it!
