 | BorasBand was founded in 2004 by Jarek (guitar and vocals), Teun (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Mundi-Joe (drums). All songs are written, arranged and produced by the band, with Jarek as the main driver behind this process.
Jarek was born in Olsztyn, Poland, where he lived until he was 18 years old. In Poland, Jarek learned to play the guitar, violin and contrabass.
Because of the hopelessness of the Polish situation, Jarek and a friend decided in 1987 to emigrate. Their goal was to get to America. Jarek got no further than The Netherlands. Once there, he met Teun who was looking for a guitar player for his band.
Teun, just like Mundi-Joe, played in various bands with different styles, ranging from latin, to funk and rock. Teun and Mundi-Joe met eachother, playing in an occasional band formed by a number of mutual friends.
When the drummer left the band Jarek and Teun had founded, Teun invited Mundi-Joe to join. From then on they decided to proceed as BorasBand.
BorasBand plays songs, which are inspired on the everyday, but not straightforward, lives of Jarek, Teun and Mundi-Joe. Also, all sorts of remarkable developments in society inspire the band members to write their lyrics and songs.
After a lengthy period of writing, recording and producing songs BorasBand released their first album at the start of 2006 on the internet, under the license of Creative Commons.
BorasBand continuous to record new songs in their own studio, under the indie label Precious Records.
BorasBand makes an unforgettable impression during live performances, thanks to the raw, and at the same time sensitive atmosphere brought about by their music. The down-to-earth line-up of vocals, guitar, bass and drums provides the band members all the room to make a powerful musical statement.
