Beltane was formed in Boise, Idaho in 1994 by Susan Nelson-Sangiorgi and Dana Logan. Their music is a rich mix of original songs based on Celtic myths and traditions, a few rock classics and traditional Celtic tunes. The lush vocal harmonies and the beauty and integrity of the lyrics are central to the sound of their music. They have a unique blend of the Celtic style entwined with the rich vocals and gospel stylings of the American folk and choral traditions.
Instead of the usual venues of clubs or bars, Beltane has managed to build an audience that enthusiastically supports festivals, benefits and self-produced shows in halls or amphitheaters. They’ve built enough of a following to have been invited to play a variety of festivals and events, including New Old Time Chatauqua (traveling vaudeville act), International Showcase (Eagle, Idaho), Goddess Festival (Boise, Idaho), Hyde Park Street Fair (Boise, Idaho), and Faerieworlds Fest (Eugene, Oregon).
Currently, Beltane is recording its first full length album, slated for release whenever they get it done!!!!
