Boris spreads a special kind of charisma throughout the
clubscene in Berlin. His musical roots go way back into the mid
80ties when he used to live in New York.
Through his stay he was absorbing the unique spirit of the
legendary Paradise Garage weekend after weekend. What he
learned from Larry Levan, the musical force behind this club, was
to believe in your musical intuition and keep your mind open for
all kinds of music.
His spectrum covers a range from Disco, Hi-NRG, Post-Punk,
(Kraut-)Rock, House to Techno which could even be incorporated
into one set. „For Larry, music was the most important thing. He
made no compromises and knew exactly how to bring his feeling
across. This is what I..m trying to achieve when I..m playing.“
Boris was a resident DJ in the Panoramabar of the now defunct club
OstGut. He gained a large fan community through his
long sets which sometimes lasted until midday the next day.
„The audience is more receptive to unusual music in the morning
hours than at night. Which gives me the oppurtunity to give
my feeling free reign“. After the closing of OstGut he was playing
regularly in all clubs of Berlin and a lot in Europe. Since the opening
of Berghain, the succesor of OstGut, he has returned to his
regular spot.
Since 2005 he is in charge of the label careless records as
A&R. Through his work as DJ and A&R you can see that it..s not
important for him to refine a certain genre but to push music with a special twist.
