BOSH - Five gents who make music that not only gets inside your head, but into your heart. They make music to move you, and music to make you move. They’ve notched up 170+ gigs since 2004 and 11 releases since 1998.
Their influences come from iconic British bands and result in churning Hammond organs, big drum sounds, intense bass grooves, gritty guitars and expansive soundscapes. There's punch, there's power, there's passion, with moments of tenderness and tranquility.
After two years honing the songs on the road BOSH went into the studio, emerging six months later to announce the arrival of their flagship album 'Sound the Alarms' released in April 2008 on Risen Records. Produced by a team which included Grammy nominated engineer/producer Steve Ennever and Paul Burton (Delirious, Elbow, Athlete and Snow Patrol) 'Sound the Alarms' captures the infectious live energy and hook laden songs that have won audiences over and helped BOSH a build a notable following. The album has been incredibly well received by critics and fans alike, spawning regular radio airplay for ‘Police Helicopter’, ‘Blacklines’, ‘Heaven Syndrome’ and ‘There Is’. There was TV airplay for the live video of ‘Police Helicopter’ too.
September 2009 saw the release of 'The Gloaming Hour EP', six new studio tracks crafted into a listening experience. The EP features BOSH exploring new much mellower and sparser sounds whilst keeping the surging rock sound of their previous album.
Not interested in fitting in with any scenes or following fashions (and all the better for it) BOSH just want to lift people. 'Sound the Alarms' is a fantastic offering from a band that stands out amongst some of today's predictable and generic music. BOSH have a natural flare for creative, powerful song writing, backed up by a live performance that is truly captivating.
"Sound The Alarms' delivers everything that Bosh's riveting stage performances suggested - impassioned, driving rock applied to hooky songs that eschew formula yet are instantly memorable...a gem of an album. 10/10 Tony Cummings // Music Editor // crossrhythms.co.uk “Sound The Alarms to me was the most over-looked album ever in the British Christian Music. Each track on Sound The Alarms is British Christian Rock at it's best and is worthy of a listen. Years of playing as a band together has paid off with what I can only describe as a classic Christian Rock Album. 4.5/5" "With this EP; “The Gloaming Hour” Bosh take it to the next level, it’s about time people stood up and took notice of this amazing band. Are they the best British Christian Band around now? Buy the EP, make your mind up. I have and the answer is Yes. 5/5" Jono Davies // louderthanthemusic.co.uk
"BOSH as a band are at this moment in time one of the foremost talents in alternative Christian music. What strikes me is their inherent artistic ability to couple their heart's emotions to beautiful sonic anthems, with a quality that frequently transcends ingenuity and touches on the sublime. Spiritually impassioned and culturally relevant this album [Sound the Alarms] includes songs that can be considered modern day CCM masterpieces."
