The Foundation of Boss 501 was created in 2006, and Boss 501 was fully formed January of 2007. Boss 501 is dynamic group of musicians, who have strong influences from all music genres. Boss 501 is comprised primarily of Chico State students, featuring ex-members of Ska/Reggae bands The Pedaltones and One Big Step. Boss 501 has delivered diverse crowds to venues all over California such as The El Rey Theatre, The Knitting Factory, The Senator Theatre, Café Coda, Ramona Main Stage Theatre, and main more.
Boss 501 has been lucky enough to share the stage with amazing international acts such as Lee Scratch Perry, The Wailers, Mystics Roots, Chris Murray Combo, The Impalers, Deals Gone Bad, See Spot, and many more. Boss 501 will continue to grow, and continue to bring hard-hitting Jamaican rhythms to the world.
