Hey!
To introduce myself: I'm Anja Assmuth and as you can see on my page I'm playing drums. Currently I play in the following bands:

- Black Thunder (AC/DC tribute),

- Mike Stone (rock band),

- The Beaux Jangles (swing),

- Mambo Kurt (famous German entertainer)

and substitute for Angel Dust, Black Rosie (AC/DC tribute)

and Rt Combo (dance cover band)

I performed in bands like Duke, Doro Pesch, God's Army, Mike Zero, White Canvas, Stimmkraft etc. and did drum showcases for “Sharp” on the “Cebit” computer fair in Hannover. I played on several festivals like Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, main stages at Sziget Festival in Budapest with Iggy Pop & HIM and “With Full Force Festival” in Leipzig as well as in the stadium “Auf Schalke” in Gelsenkirchen and at different venues in Germany.
Besides this I'm also singing in a gospel quartet and writing songs for children.

How it started: When I was a child I started playing flute (like everybody :-)), then accordion, acoustic guitar, organ for a couple of years and after that I became an electric guitar player. After three years of playing guitar I changed to drums.

Like my brother, Dirk Assmuth, who is still the drummer and leader of Angel Dust, my heart belongs to rock and heavy metal music. Early on I started to play in bands like “Giants Of Passion” and several cover bands. After working with drum teachers like Jörg Michael (Stratovarius...) and Mike Terrana ( Yngwie Malmsteen, Axel Rudi Pell,..), I joined the power metal band “Duke”. With Duke we were signed to Massacre Records and released the CD “Escape From Reality” that we recorded at Moormann Studio in Bochum. After a lot of shows together with Rage, Edguy, Squealer etc. unfortunately the band split up in 2005.

At the same time I started to play in the all girl band “Bossa Babes”. Together with the “King of Organ”, Mambo Kurt, we played a lot of shows and festivals all over Europe.

I'm a drummer who is familiar with a lot of different styles of playing – from playing standards like rumba, tango etc. to swing and pop, rock & heavy metal with fast double bass drumming!
