About me: Bossa Boogie is a dj-crew from Amsterdam, Holland, that likes to leave sweatstaines on every dancefloor they can get their superfunkysoulafrobossareggae-stylee hands on. Guuzbourg (the Frenchgirlsloving-dj formerly known as Aguuzto), Lubacov (the coffeecoloured charmer) and Dewey Sakitumi (the blonde bombshell) started out 3 years ago, with their bi-monthly Bossa Boogie-parties. They've dj'ed from Maastricht to The Hague to the beach. Together, or with a little help from some friends (Wicked Jazz Sounds, Buscemi, Jairzinho, TimTim). They had bands (Lefties Soul Connection, Eurocinema) on their birthdays, and free soulfood!
Bossa Boogie is all about the love of peppered music, be it soul, funk, jazz, latin, bossanova or afrobeat. Old or new, we don't care, as long as it makes us wiggle our white behinds. But: strictly vinyl. No iPods, no cd's, no premixes, no laptops, just big black circles with little holes in it. What you see is what you hear.

Kaleta & Akoya Afrobeat The Spirit Of Fela Is Alive & Well Mukatsuku Records 4/5 An explosive slice of Afrobeat from Kaleta gets the licensing thumbs up from Mukatsuku, who finally get this gem to the Fela faithful. Originally clocking in at over 14 minutes, its been chopped virtually in half to add more punch and immediacy, whilst on the flip Guynamite and label boss Nik Weston add a more contemporary boogie house twist to the original, in doing so losing none of the vitality or the 'Fela' essence.
