Influences
We are influenced by any music that we like and we like a lot of music. That's why we are musicians. We used to have a list here of many of our favorites, but every time we would come back to the list, we would see a name left off that should be there and realize that if you are that name, you must be wondering the same thing. We are sure you will find many great musicians on our friends list. Check them out....
Sounds Like
Bossa Nova Beatniks
Live at CBGB.
And when Tim sings the lead, we can sound completely different. (Actually, we always sound completely different.)
BE WARNED that the Internet is a wild place where many will not be whom they present themselves to be. The Bossa Nova Beatniks neither condone nor endorse anyone merely because they are added to our friends' list. We suggest you be careful whom you approach or let approach you. Thank you, now run along and have fun. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a slightly better world, everyone would play in a band. In a much, much better world, we would all sound like the Bossa Nova Beatniks. It's amazing that it works, but it does. The group brings energy, skill and humor to almost every style they attempt. It's the kind of band you always hope is playing down at the local tavern on Saturday nights.

Describing themselves as one of the most unique and original bands in New York BNB certainly live up to that description. Bandleader Tom Gould's songs often have an indefinable quality, bouncing from pop to jazz to world rhythms - sometimes within a single song. Constantly re-inventing themselves, the Bossa Nova Beatniks are a very dynamic live act as well. Expect a wide range of emotions and rhythms to flood from the stage. SAM ASH website ----------------

Gould's songwriting has grown better and better, and his band seems to be able to reinvent itself with every new record. Kevin Amorim - New York Newsday ----
