MySpace a place for friends

The Boston Rebels is the Boston chapter of FanForce, the physical, grass-roots extension of the Star Wars fan site, TheForce.net. All FanForce chapters have forums on TheForce.net's forum system, however, the idea of FanForce is for members to meet and interact with their fellow Star Wars fans in the real world. We have regular meets (we try for once a month), and the activities can vary from hangouts at a member's home, to lunch and games at the Good Time Emporium in Somerville, to museum visits (of course, the most recent being "Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination" at the Boston Museum of Science), and we often have joint meets with Rhode Squadron and the Foxboro Imperial Syndicate, two of the nearby New England chapters. We are also paired with the New Jersey Order in the FanForce "Sister Chapters" program and meet with their members on occasion. A big annual meet is the Supermegafest convention, held every November in Framingham, where FanForce runs a table and a collectables raffle for charity (this year for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism). Meets are generally planned and announced on our FanForce board.

If you're a Star Wars fan in the Boston area, the Boston Rebels is for you. It costs nothing to join, but you must be at least old enough to be able to register for TheForce.net's forums (age 13), on which members should be active. If this is something that interests you, please pay our FanForce board a visit and post a hello in the "New to the Boston Rebels" thread. We also have a MySpace Group that Boston Rebels members on MySpace can use to post items that would otherwise be against the Terms of Service of TheForce.net's board (i.e. buying and selling collectables).
