| Pete Sutton writes the songs, plays the bass and keeps them laughing.
A veteran of the boston music scene for over 15 years, Pete Sutton has been an in-demand bass player and part of some of the most influential music to come out of the city. Pete's previous bands include the Barnies, Trona, and Baby Ray. Pete is currently a member of the Willard Grant Conspiracy, Ray Corvair Trio, Mick Mondo, and Electrolux.
Temper is pete's first foray into songwriting as well as fronting his own band. It's a marked difference from previous gigs. The music is more atmospheric, dynamic, driven by pete's trademark thumping bass.
In the tradition of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and XTC, two lead vocals switch back and forth between songs; sometimes even within the same song.
(fake) endorsement: Pete plays Ampeg and Eden amps and only Fender basses that are older than him.
Nancy Delaney plays the drums and rearranges the furniture.
Great drummers aren't born, they're forged in the blood and sweat of a thousand open mic blues jams. Nancy emerged from that primordial ooze and has been lending her thumping backbeat to Temper since it's inception. The picture of cool, calm, and collected behind the kit, Ms. Delaney is also the band's musical soul; a true music fan whose vast knowledge and respect of rock music permeates every groove laid down. She also looks damn good in a leather jacket and scarf, at peace with herself and confidently keeping temper solid and rock-steady.
(fake) endorsement: Nancy plays Pearl drums and hardware because she, too, wants the best.
Skyla Fay plays the guitar, sings the songs and explains everything.
Possessing a heavenly - some would say otherworldy - voice somewhere west of the planet Neptune, Skyla shares co-lead vocals in Temper. Loud-and-clear one moment, then husky-yet-delicate the next. In addition, she holds down the strum-strum pick-pick of the electric guitar. Though nurturing by nature (just ask her ferrets), Ms. Fay brings a tuffy no-nonsense aura essential to the band's chemistry. She is also the group's conscience, an unwavering moral compass that firmly grounds temper in the here-and-now.
(fake) endorsement: Skyla plays vintage-series Gibson guitars and Fender amps because they don't make 'em like they used to.
Former member Carlene Barous played keyboards and sang on "Hang By Your Own Tail". |
