I'm an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, surrounded by conflicting signposts, in the middle of a minefield.
OK, actually I'm not. I was just trying to sound dangerous, 'cause someone told me The Ladies are into that.
Actually, I like to think of myself as a sort of a "fun intellecutal." I am interested in exploring and experiencing and learning as much as I can about as much as I can, but I try not to be pompous about it (although "fun intellectual" is sort of a pompous phrase, come to think of it).
Annnyway... I'm interested in science and history, politics and ideas, arts and music, food and drink. I'm also a pretty good cook, which makes me dangerous to myself.
I love movies and good TV (especially offbeat stuff with something interesting to say). Live performance (music, theatre, comedy, dance -- it really doesn't matter) awes me and I'll watch almost anything once. Except American Idol, which is something different altogether. I love to travel and I love to read, but I don't do either one very often anymore (both funds and free time being lacking at the moment).
I don't take most things all that seriously, will laugh at almost anything, and sometimes that gets me into trouble. I can quote large sections of The Princess Bride or nearly anything by Monty Python from memory, which was probably quite charming when I was in college, but now may be mostly annoying. I like to do funny voices and accents, and do so with mixed success. Some day I'm going to do a stupid exaggerated accent in front of somebody who actually has that accent and be very embarrassed.
Mostly, I just try to be a nice guy. And sometimes I finish last, but at least that gives me something to whine about.
