Bot records was created in 2008 to take advantage of the wider interest in the spectrum of new music (Electronic) that Satamile Rec. could not handle due to its
genre specific Electro format. Running Satamile really did not capture the full scope of my experience as one of NY's ambient Djs in the early 90's and also of my vast experience and exposure to all kinds of electronic music during my residence at Strange? records.
We did crazy events at clubs like The Void in Soho, everything was played from
"Lull" drone, Jim Plotkin to Boards of Canada. We also had guest appearances by Sean+Rob of Autechre, (Dj Set) , Mix Master Morris and many others. These were the foundation years for Satamile and later Bot Rec. where everything and anything could be played to a vibrant , colorful and rich nightlife before suffering the censorship from the Rudy Giuliani administration. Bot opens the doors to express our full history of experience.
Bot is really about deep synthesis, different ways of programming/producing and not having to meet the sonic demands of the dancefloor or commercial retail. Drone to Dublectro or even pitched down breaks are the new territories of which Bot will conquer. We're looking for new soundscapes to explore and sonic boundaries to define in a future world history.
With our first 3 releases already out on the market in Vinyl 12" form , mastering by Frankford and Wayne and pressed at Brooklyn Phono, these are delicious 12's to have. Bot. 001 by John Blackford has already received rave reviews from around the world including DJ Mag in the UK , followed by the same with Ben Milstein's ep (programmed on supercollider) and Automaton's ep for pure sparkling engineering excellence with deep emotive breakbeat power.

Review: "Don Goliath's "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is one of those innovative EPs showcasing how versatile Dubstep can get. The unique idea of creating Dubstep versions of celctic (Irish as well as Scottish) folk classics for all you drunkards longing to sing along was Don Goliath's motto when producing this madness. The concept is as simple as effective: he picked 4 of your grandpa's favourites such as "Old Skibbereen", "Scotland the Brave", "Drunken Sailor" and "Amazing Grace" having the melody played by a definitly non-sober Bagpipe section and then layering it with lofi mid range wobbleism - we therefor call it Bagstep. Overall production quality is high grade with that intense sub focus so you can blow-dry your hair right in front of the bass bins. Now let's get into the tunes: "Skibbereen Bagstep" is one of the melancolic minor tunes expressing Irish history as it is. It is an unmixable 3/4 waltz beat at unusual 154bpm, well dancebal though when one moves to the triplets. "Bagstep the brave" should be one of the sickest rebuilds of the Scottish national anthem making it Mel Gibson's signature tune if he had one. "Drunken Bagstep" is a Glitchfest version of the sailors anthem capable of getting you uberdrunk by listening alone, Arrrr! "Amazing Bagstep" is as religious as it gets making it a tune that'll certainly safe xamounts of lost souls. Enjoying the dancefloor got even easier now: drink out the bar, make your skirt fly and sing along to these (future) classics! Some will hate this release and some will love it, there barely is anything in between. All Dubstep Division crew salutes the latter as our fellow beerheadz! cheeeeeerz!"
