James Wilson was living in New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina. He was one of the lucky evacuees who left just hours before the storm hit, leaving all of his belongings behind... including his guitars! Living like a gypsy for four months, he bounced between the homes of family and friends.
After his job transferred to Phoenix, James drove cross-country to the Valley of the Sun to start a new phase in his life. He had employment, a duffle bag of clothes, and his guitars (which he eventually recovered from New Orleans – thank God!).
Without such distractions as a television (this would change!) :-) James became re-acquainted with his love of music; he started dusting off many songs that he wrote while living and performing in New Orleans. Meanwhile, Paul Burch and JD Arthur were (separately) seeking new musical outlets that would differ from past projects. Determined to find like-minded musicians, Paul placed an online ad.
James responded to Paul's ad and they hit it off in their first few jam sessions. With a re-worded ad, the two accepted JD's response and invited him to a rehearsal. The trio immediately clicked, with a number of songs quickly coming together. After tossing around a few choice band names (SimpleFresh?!!?), a photo that Paul took while on vacation inspired the name that was agreed upon...... and Bottle Of Sun was born!
Bottle of Sun....... listen and decide for yourself!
