About me: The Bottomheavies are a weathered ensemble of performers who carry rural notions to urban time frames. We respond to the overall ridiculousness of human nature and in turn, reflect on situational tendencies rather than themes. These tendencies unfold along side a departure from preciosness and sentimentality. We tend to avoid thematic pretenses and beautifl lifts. We expose the potential of an image, rather than the image itself. We imagine things void of their history and these dances are not about us. The Bottomheavies have shown work at Dixon Place, St. Mark’s Church, Joyce Soho, Movement Research Festival @ Judson Church, Galapagos, Hampshire College(MA), Thornes A.P.E. Performance Space(MA) and Susan Hess(Philly). We are dedicated to a sincere research in performance aesthetics.
