I am an aspiring photographer. I use a Nikon N65 and a Nikon D50 for my shoots. Photography has been a passion of mine for a long time, and I have always used photography and other are as a creative outlet. I am looking to do more model shoots and I am in the process of getting a website up with my work. I currently work with JDown Valmont on a regular basis and work with anyone that is willing to give it what they've got. Starting in the fall I will be a photographer for The Campus Press, my school's online newspaper. I have worked in a Wolf Camera portrait studio as a photographer [and I sold cameras, lenses, etc. as well], but honestly I prefer shooting on site. Hopefully by the end of this year I will be shooting weddings and have more paid work under my belt. I took AP Photography in high school with my amazing and inspiring teacher, Kimberly Landers. My work started having more meaning and Landers taught me to express myself on an even higher level my last year of high school. Check out my photography site: photographybysummer.com
I absolutely love snowboarding. I grew up in the dirty dirty south...Atlanta to be exact, but I moved to Boulder, Colorado [probably the best decision I have ever made] to follow my heart to the mountains. I am currently a member of Boulder Freeride, the largest Ski & Snowboard club. We take trips to places like Jackson Hole and get together for a good time on the mountain and off! I plan on joining the CU Snowboard Team this year [cusnowboardteam.com] to take my snowboarding to the next level. I think that the coaches and structure will help me immensely along with riding with amazing riders will push me to do my best on the mountain. My boyfriend and I ride together a lot, and he pushes me to do my best as well. We bomb cliffs together and make the mountains our playground. If you want to see me truly happy, watch me snowboard.
Every summer I come back to Atlanta...my main reason is my job: Swim Coach. I love making a change in people's lives and I love being around kids and letting my inner child out. I love the enthusiasm in swimming and I love seeing the results in the short season of 2 months! I really miss my kids when it isn't swim season...and since swim season just ended I'm really missing them!
Out in Colorado I work at CU's FISKE Planetarium. My favourite job at Fiske is Starlab. Starlab is an inflatable planetarium that holds ~20-25 people. We take Starlab to elementary schools in the area to educate the children about Astronomy. With the way it is set up, I say whatever I want about the sky which means that I can adjust the presentation based on the ages of the kids we are presenting to and I can answer questions they have so that they get the most out of our visit! I am also starting to work as a LA [Learning Assistant-kinda like a TA] through The University of Colorado in the Fall. I will be helping out at lab, holding office hours, and holding study sessions among other things. I can't wait to further my knowledge with Astronomy working as a LA this fall!

This model, similar to that recommended to Congress by President Nixon's esteemed Shafer Commission in 1972, is called "decriminalization."
