The 'Bound For Boston' is a traditional Free House establishment based in Derry's cultural and musical centre at Waterloo Street. Although re-opening in 1993 as the 'Bound For Boston', the story of our pub goes right back to the days of the famine, when millions of Irish citizens, made the exodus across the Atlantic to America. Derry in that time became a gateway to the new world, as hundreds of thousands of people boarded ships docked in the Foyle, which would carry them off to a new life. The 'Bound For Boston', then known as 'The Rosses', was a public house which served the needs of thousands of travellers, before they embarked on the gruelling journey across the ocean. Now one of the busiest and livliest pubs in Derry, the 'Bound For Boston' continues to pay tribute to this era in Irish history, and the decor and design of our bar acknowledges this period of our heritage.
