Bound For Nowhere is a power-trio that puts the rock in Rockland County.
The diverse and dynamic sounds of BFN’s music have brought them new fans with each performance, and great respect from their peers. BFN is known to bring the house down with its beautiful harmonies, blistering guitar solos, and crowd-pleasing covers.
For many years BFN has been active in the local music scene here in Rockland as well as Bergen County, NJ and the New York City area. They have performed in various types of venues ranging from local schools and churches to The Knitting Factory and CBGB's.
With over 50 shows under their belts and an EP titled, "Welcome to Nowhere", BFN has expanded their reach and has spread their music to a greater audience. They now can be heard on various college campus radio stations as well as the local "Rockland World Radio" internet format.
Each of BFN’s three members brings his own tastes and influences to the band to create a truly unique sound.
Zak King, lead guitarist and chief songwriter, comes from a background of classic rock. His father was the bass player in a 70’s rock band, and raised Zak listening to The Who, Led Zeppelin, Cream, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Zak clearly paid attention; during BFN’s famous cover of “Purple Haze,” Zak is known to raise his guitar to his mouth and solo with his teeth.
Drummer Brandon Perlin is a fan of Punk and Emo music; his favorite band was, and remains to be, Blink182. Brandon described the band’s breakup as “tragic.”
Finally, bassist Dave Ganin also prefers classic rock, modeling himself after the late John Entwistle of the Who. Dave can often be seen emulating the Ox’s speed and melody while holding down the low end.
After a friendly parting of their long time singer Mike DeModna, the band has decided to continue on their journey with Zak and Dave both sharing the vocal duties. The band is now back to its original lineup and has never sounded better! They are currently in the studio working on their debut full length entitled "Voodoo Doll" which will revolutionize the modern rock scene and bring back all that has been lost in the flood. Look for the sampler from this upcoming album in early February.
Together, the members of Bound For Nowhere synthesize their tastes into something even greater: It is at times pop, rock, blues, metal, and punk. But at all times, it is meaningful, melodic music that fans of all types of music can enjoy. BFN’s motto can be seen in the lyrics to their song “A Way of Life.” “Use my gift to touch a soul; Play my life out through Rock N’ Roll.” The members of the band live for music, and want nothing more than to share their musical vision with the world.
