Folk, rock, reggae, oldies, jazz, classical, some hip-hop, a little pop, this and that.
Books
First, some beloved authors: Dr. Seuss, Beatrix Potter, A.A. Milne, Louisa May Alcott, L.M. Montgomery, J.R.R. Tolkein, C.S. Lewis, Helen Lester, Holly Hobbie, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Louise Erdrich, Howard Frank Mosher, Natalie Kinsey-Warnock, Katherine Paterson, Dennis Lehane, Louise Erdrich, O. Henry, Oscar Wilde, Arthur Conan Doyle, the Bronte sisters.
Next, books I've read over the years (mostly not by the authors above--that would be repetitious) that have stuck with me:
Miss Jellytot's Visit (I read that one more times than I could count), the Nancy Drew series (and the Boxcar Children and the Bobbsey Twins and the Hardy Boys and the Happy Hollisters and Encyclopedia Brown--pretty much any kid detective series I got my hands on), Jacob Have I Loved, the Witch of Blackbird Pond, Tuck Everlasting, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, To Kill a Mockingbird, Fallen Angels, Jane Eyre (possibly my favorite book of all time), The Shadow of the Wind (a close second), She's Come Undone, The Things They Carried, Corelli's Mandolin, Ahab's Wife, The Highest Tide. (More to come, I am sure.)

"She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain." (Louisa May Alcott)
As I am currently experiencing some personal turmoil and have had no time for reading lately, I am sorry to say that Bound To Read is taking a vacation from blogging. Thanks to those of you who've been reading the blog--I'll try to be back soon!
I'm a total booknerd who decided recently (at 3:00 in the morning) that I wanted to start my own blog on books. I'll be writing about what I'm reading currently, news from the book world, and maybe throw in some other things that interest me from time to time. I look forward to hearing back from people--book recommendations and reviews are welcome!
The original IT guy--hilarious for book nerds and computer geeks alike. (P.S. This has subtitles, so you can watch it even if you don't have sound capabilities or are at work and don't want your boss to know you're slacking.)

Of wives...who would rather have their husbands to hold
Of children...who would rather have their dad or mom at home.
Of mothers...who have buried their sons/daughters
Of fathers...whose feet their children followed
Of the men and women fighting a nightmare of their own -
one they will carry with them until the same song plays,
the same flag drapes and the same tears fall
just as they watched in pain their friends and comrades
committing what they will come to call "wrongs"
by which they lived..by which they survived...
nightmares they will carry with them throughout their lives.
It doesn't go away when the guns are laid down..
It doesn't go away when they return home...
It doesn't go away for them - why should it for you?
