Bounte: Maximal (EP)
Bounte returns with more intricate, groove-infused electronica in Maximal. With this 4-track set, Bounte shifts focus to danceable instrumentals dominated by dark, glitchy, thundering beats. From the hard and grinding low-end of "D575" to the energized snarework of "Sextuple X," Maximal is fuel for the dance floor.
Bounte: One
One is the debut album from Chicago native Bounte. Combining a breakbeat and IDM backbone with strong melodic textures and melodies, One is an unique take on the current electronic music scene.
Bounte combines elements of IDM, hip-hop, electro, jazz, rock, pop, and classical music into collage-like electronic songs that groove with ease, but provide a challenge for listeners who dig deeper.
Chicago producer Dean Dunakin performed on trumpet from an early age, rooted in classical, jazz, and the local blues. But his young fascination with the scratchy bleeps of the Apple IIe — and deep affinity with computers through a degree in digital painting — led to a natural adoption of computer as his main instrument. He is able to use his classical and jazz training to bring an air of sophistication and a new palette of sounds to the electronic music genre.
Bounte's well-received debut album, One, was built of subtle layers, thick basslines, airy vocals, complex beats, and sophisticated synths. Live/DJ sets, and an internet distribution through Positron Records placed Bounte as a welcome addition to the local music scene, and popular with a world-wide audience. Following up with the aggressively beat-specific but delicately diverse EP Maximal, Bounte remains unrooted in any particular genre or time. Bounte is currently wrapping up his sophomore album, Two, which promises to bring together all his styles from IDM to jazz, skills from turntableism to trumpeting, and guest artists met throughout his experiences.

A WAKE A WEEK - Little Black Cloud [SLQ006] Out now on Spectraliquid! ------------------------------------- With this debut release from his new project, Dave Dando-Moore (Detritus) offers us an intensely composed symphony of unending sorrow. This is as raw, open and confessional as music can get. Drawing comparisons with Max Richter, Deaf Centre, Johann Johannsson and The Protagonist, A Wake A Week will evoke cathartic exorcisms of woe in even the most glacial of hearts. ------------------------------------- Sound samples : www.myspace.com/awakeaweek Online orders : www.spectraliquid.com
