MMA, Jiu-Jitsu, going to white trash events and making fun of them, chillaxing, comedy films, sketch comedy (watching and acting) listening to music...shit like that.
First Fight After ACL Surgery: Legends of Fighting 25
This is where I had my super awesome Project Playlist player. Myspace and the Third (copy)Reicht piracy Nazis deleted. They did send me a nice email though. :(
Basically, I don't watch a lot of TV. Of course, any MMA on television is the good. I have friends in Bodog, WEC, the UFC, IFL, so anytime any of that is on, I'm watching. Other than that, either G4(tech)TV or the History/DiscoveryTimes channels, maybe soccer, baseball, hockey. Definitely more of a music guy since nothing good really comes on TV anymore. I watch the good stuff that assholes cancel on DVD.
Books
Catcher in the Rye, Great Gatsby, Gracie Way, Grappling Magazine, Full Contact Fighter, Art of War, Everything by Chuck Palahniuk, Zen and the Art of Archery, History texts.
Heroes
I avoid heroes, but allow everyone to inspire me. Look for inspiration and drive anywhere...it's not always right in front of you, it's not always easy to see, and sometimes it's only appreciated in retrospect.
Christ, Gable, MLK, the guy that invented the peanut butter and jelly sandwich....not necessarily in that order. Anyone that has thought outside of any box. Anyone that has dared to ask "why?" Anyone who did what they thought they couldn't while others said they couldn't because they thought one day, someone might take notice and have their lives improved. Anyone who is willing to do the right thing that no one wants to do. Those that say what everyone thinks, those that die for what the believe is worth living for, and those that live in honor of those who have died....dreamers, people that know what is best for their own lives and actually do it...regardless of how hard it may be or how many times they've been told "no." Anyone who takes an extra second to make a stranger smile. People that don't litter.....

About me: I'm the guy that everyone loves in small doses, and the select few tolerates full time. Yes, you heard me: EVERYONE loves me in small doses. You will too; don't worry.
My name is Blake Bowman and I am professional mixed martial artist. You may recognize me from such shows as SpikeTV's The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra, or from when I was poking me head up yelling through the cage while a real fighter, Cole Miller, was fighting. I'm a pretty simple dude, but have the chance now that someone was kind enough to hand wrap and give me, to make a living and a career out of the one thing that I enjoy: fighting. This living cannot be made without the support of fans. If this is you...thanks. no, really..thank you. I will never, ever be too busy to appreciate my fans, or fans of MMA in general for that matter. At times, I may not be able to respond to your comments and emails, but I promise you that I personally read all of them.
The only thing I enjoy as much as fighting is comedy. I get the only thing that resembles happiness from entertaining people. I suppose that's my "calling" if you will. Whether it's with my fists (or my face and someone else's fists) or my wit and humor, I love to know that people had a better time because of me. If you're a comedy writer, troupe, a fight promoter looking for a guest ref or commentator (yes, I'm awesome at commentating) a fan wanting to say "Hey!" or a company of any kind looking to sponsor me...just shoot a message, I'll read it and get back to you as soon as I can. It may be a while, but just because it says "read" doesn't mean I'm not getting to it in a few days.
That being said....the obligatory "about me" bullshit:
I am brought as much joy by my cynicism as I am happiness. Some of the things that I enjoy making fun of constantly: -my friends and their short comings
-my own insecurities
-very religious people's beliefs
-emo faggots and their hair
-people that want to brag about how unique of an individual they are, when really they're just Emo
-other racial groups
-white people
-people with more money than me
-pacifists
-on-line gamers
-calling people ugly regardless of how attractive they are
I suck at double speak, but I'm a great word smith. Go figure. Sometimes I read books just so I look smart; I really like the newspaper though. I'm always down for a political debate, even though I rarely am defending my views; ditto for religion. I'm an instigator with a good heart but no real emotions. I was born too late...needed to be alive during the era of the "lovable scamp." Chuck Palahniuk's characters are all based on me. I drive within 5 miles of the speed limit. I like to yell and make others uncomfortable.
I also spend too much time contemplating what to write in "about me" sections...so, I'm gonna wrap this up mid sentence. fin
Who I'd like to meet: I always thought this meant in general...but someone put me wise that it means like "meet on myspace." I always looked up to Matt Hughes a LOT. Fighting has given me an opportunity to not only meet, but get to know and train with Matt as well as SEVERAL other people that I have admired when first starting out. As lame as it may sound, I'd like to turn around and do the same and meet anyone who is just now starting out in the MMA game and would like some pointers or advice. ALSO...I am currently seeking any and all sponsors willing to use me to mutually benefit us. While gear is cool and I don't mind repping your stuff if we have a deal, I of course am looking for cash. I have to eat and pay bills just like everyone else. The UFC and my amateur career have allowed me to accumulate a box full of gear big enough to start my own warehouse....I need to pay the light bill now.
Of course, most of all, even though I hate to use this word.....ALL MY FANS! You guys fucking rock!
im home in boynton lol. but dont you have friends and the millers family is in GA and the state is like under water?!?!?!?? do u ever go to the new boynton gym?
Thank you so much!! Yeah, Jeff Buckley's music is no joke-- it's some seriously amazing material. I'm hoping that I can get my friend to play the guitar part for "Hallelujah" so I can sing it and put it up on YouTube, but I may end up doing it on my keyboard. We'll see. :) Anyway-- thanks for the friend request. Much appreciated!!! Christina
