The roots of the North Texas Skunkgrass band, the Boxcar Bandits, trace back to the demise of Blaizin' Grass in late 2005, after which Texas Rex enlisted the help of some local drinkers with pickin' problems, and began performin' under the moniker of the Boxcar Bandits in February 2006 in the lovely town of Denton, TX. Equally at home at a beer joint or back porch, coffeshop, streetcorner, or concert hall, the Bandits unique brand of pickin' has been known to cause spontaneous squaredancin'! They meld old-time, fastgrass, gospel and metal with the sounds of string band instruments to create the North Texas Skunkgrass sound.
The Bandits first album, "Smells Like Grass" was released on Break-a-Pick Records in 2008. These grizzly road warriors have taken their show on the road throughout their home state of Texas, also playin' in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana. In between tourin', they are hard at work on their second record, "Far Mountain Gravy". They continue to break strings and take names all throughout the land!

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
