Sounds Like
maybe if the violent femmes were southern anarcha-feminists with female vocals and a bit more soul. its been said that we sound like the indigo girls meets motorhead, but we feel more like the dixie chicks meets the clash. we also hope its obvious that we listen to a lot of hip hop.

This band is no longer active. We played our last show in June of 2007.
BOXCAR BERTHA began as duo - nego and larkin found each other in greensboro, nc. they discovered a mutual love for bikes, southern cookin, and good harmonies. they started playing together - larkin on drums, nego on guitar - and played their first show in a parking lot in late oct. of 2000, at a free show that nego helped to organize called 'youth culture against the police state.'
danny, and his hot pink bass, joined the band in spring of 2004. Towards the end of our 7 year run, gigi began joining us at live performances with her banjo.
Thanks to all who came out to see us over the years.
