About me:
ABOUT BOXCAR: I am a non-profit, all volunteer and collectively run bookstore and community space that exists to promote reading, self-education, social equality, and social welfare through increased accessibility to literature and workshops- and the promotion of a community to support these projects. OTHER RANDOM, LESS SERIOUS INFO ABOUT ME: I am 6 years old, not 20-whatever, but the MySpace gods won't let me a have MySpace account if I say I am 6, even though I am very mature for my age. I have a mascot named Toby who is the cutest dog on the planet. The collective that runs me is FINE, but sometimes they get lost in the sauce and thrown in the jam.

YOU! :)

Dear Boxcar Books,

I think about you and your wide selection of books all the time. When we're near one another, my heart flutters. When I peruse your beautiful stacks, I only want to groom them tenderly. It was fate that you and I became...friends.

Love,
Amber

Weekend of Resistace to I-69
Bloomington, IN
April 18th-22nd

A new phase of resistance is being initiated in response to the disregard the state has shown for the families, forests, and land of Southern Indiana. A weekend of resistance has been planned to kickoff a reinvigorated campaign against the road that is sure to last well into the future.
Join us as we up the ante in the fight against I-69!

Friday, the 18th
There will be a potluck and workshops at Boxcar Books ( 310 S. Washington) starting at 5:30pm. Workshops will include a history of resistance to I-69, Know your rights/legal training, affinity group model/security culture, DIY media, and medic training.

Saturday, the 19th
Parade!! A festive and family friendly march against I-69 will take place. Meet at 2:00pm at Peoples Park (Kirkwood and Dunn).
Participants are encouraged to bring noise makers, drums, flags, wear costumes, walk on stilts, breathe fire, juggle, and make your own signs expressing how you feel about the road! This is a time for us all to express ourselves and have fun!

Sunday, the 20th
Vegan Diner (fund raiser). Cheap and hearty vegan diner food will be served from 10:00am - 3:00pm at 1305 W. 11th st. Come and enjoy a laid back atmosphere, good food, and a chance to strengthen the multi generational ties within this movement.

Monday, the 21st
Bloomington Assembly Against I-69. We will be having another big public planning and strategy meeting at the Monroe County Public Library. Meeting will be in room 1-C from 6:30 - 9:00pm. All are welcome.

Tuesday, the 22nd
Day of Action Against I-69! Make a difference this earth day by organizing your own direct action against the superhighway. Autonomous and decentralized actions may take place all day long.

Anti - I-69 Old Time Benefit Show: Leftwitch & Higgenbotham, Hazelwood, and Fatted Calf String Band are playing at Max's Place at 7pm. Good music, good cause, good food, and good beer.

The torch of editing the zine yearbook has been passed to us at Microcosm and we are beginning to assemble the 9th annual Zine Yearbook for 2007! "Wow!" you're saying to yourself, "I sure wish my zine was in there!" Well, it can be! Simply send a copy to us with a note explaining your intentions. All you need to qualify is a print run of less than 5,000 copies and to have been published in 2007. Deadline for submissions is Dec 31 so hurry! Space is limited so not every submission will be included. Make sure to provide all of your contact information and get in touch with questions. Please also let us know if you could hang up posters in your town!
Thanks to Richrd for making the posters.
