It was a fun filled night under the stars at the first annual Woof & Wine. The wine was fine, the food was fantastic, the music was hot, the auction was packed and the crowd was in a party mood. A good time was had by all and BRLA raised a ton of money! Thanks to all involved.
BRLA Underdogs!
Who does not root for the Underdog?
BRLA places hundreds of mild mannered, easy going Boxers every year. Along with these easy dogs, we also take in dogs which previous owners have not provided the basics. These Underdogs have not be socialized, exercised or provided the leadership needed to fit into a home easily.
The BRLA rehab team has recently developed a comprehensive program to turn these Underdogs around. With a committed team of volunteers who challenge these dogs physically and mentally, these dogs are coming around. Those who were dog aggressive are learning to play with others. So keep an eye on these Underdogs who will soon become someone's dog! Feel free to donate to the BRLA Underdog Program to help fund treadmills and other required equipment.
About me:
Boxer Rescue LA was founded by Ursula Sauthier in 1977 and is a 501-c-3 non profit organization run by volunteers and funded by donations. Two full time BRLA kennels house up to 120 Boxers in need on a daily basis. These Boxers-in-waiting are feed, housed, given medical treatment, evaulated, work with trainers and will be matched with the right home.
BRLA sucessfully places about 700 Boxers every year. With hundreds of repeat customers and plenty of new boxer lovers, BRLA takes pride in the matchmaking abilities of our placement volunteers who find the perfect Boxer for your lifestyle. BRLA rescues all boxers, regardless of age or medical condition. We feel that every Boxer with any chance of a quality life deserves the chance to fine it. And, we do everything we can to make that happen.
Rescue Dogs are not Bad Dogs - They are Good Dogs that were in bad situations.
Who I'd like to meet: Any and all Boxer lovers. Boxer Rescue LA rescues Boxers from shelters and owners regardless of age or medical condition. We firmly believe there is the right home for every Boxer. It's all about finding the right match for both the person and the Boxer. From young and restless to our gentle seniors. We have a Boxer for you!

BE A MEDICAL LIFELINE
BRLA is interested in providing quality of life for all Boxers. Many come to BRLA in need of medical help. Besides the routine spay & neuters, vaccinations, BRLA spends over $100,000.00 yearly on treating cases. Many rescues will not pull a sick or injured dog as they do not have the means to care for these dogs. BRLA finds a way. You can help by donating to the BRLA dedicated medical funds. These are the dogs currently under treatment.
I adopted Harry, back in October. He is such an awesome addition to our family - such a lovebug!
My husband and I renamed him Jackbear because I thought he looked like a 'Jack' and he reminded my husband of a bear. Rather than arguing over his name, we compromised and named him Jackbear.
We just love him...His sister, Dora, is a chihuahua mix, and had a hard time at first; but as you can see in this picture, they are two peas in a pod! :)
Thank you for saving Lovey's life. She is now in her forever home and renamed Abbey. You can see my blog about her and more photos on my page. Here she is in her new home! Thank you for giving her a second chance. She sends boxer wiggles and kisses!
Thanks to BRLA, both of these sweet souls (and many others) have been adopted in the last couple of weeks. Once shelter dogs with no hope, and now in loving homes...THANK YOU!
