About me: My name is Boxer (well, at least it is for now) and for 3 months I’ve been living with Scott and Luci, who found me in their yard on September 16th in the middle of the night.
I couldn't really move and just hid in the corner of the yard - my days were pretty much numbered.
They and their friend Jacquelyn took me to the vet, where it was discovered that I had a broken pelvis. Through some very tough days of weighing the costs of vet visits and surgery and the possibility of my leg having to be amputated because of nerve damage and possibly putting me to sleep (oh I heard that!) on one hand and my sunny disposition, my big floppy ears and the fact that I purred as soon as someone pet me on the other hand - they made the decision to try to nurse me back to health and keep me in a box for a few weeks (instead of the expensive surgery).
Doctors' went up to $960 - so I created this myspace site to raise funds. Through your generous donation, half the bills have already been paid.
Within weeks I climbed out of that box (against doctor's orders) and started roaming the house. By now I rule it - much to the chagrin of the other two cats living under my paw. With hardly a limp left it's almost like I never had an accident at all.
Shameless self-promotion in the comments box? We try not to do it. But we're so excited about today's episode of "iW: VIDEO On The Scene in Park City '07" we couldn't help ourselves.
