Boxing Day is a rock n roll band. You can call them pop rock, garage rock, brit rock, retro rock or whatever other label you
might want to stick them with, but at the heart of this band are their anthemic songs. Songs played loud with beer in one
hand, a guitar or sticks in the other and powered by Who-like levels of determination. Determined to be heard and to recruit
those that would join their No More Shitty Music Club.
"We come from Hootie and the Blowfish-land," explains Adams, referring to the group's hometown of Columbia, South
Carolina. "Musically, they influenced everything that went on around there. Then we came along and had these great rock 'n'
roll songs that weren't always about the tragic loss of a girlfriend or trying to win some oblivious girl's heart. Our songs are
about making your life better, about changing things and about trying to choose your own way to live life.”
Boxing Day and their management team at Anger Management are looking for the right home for their debut CD, Above it
All. In the fall of 2003 their song, Fall Away, entered the regular rotations of WRAX in Birmingham Al., WARQ in Columbia
SC, and WLUM in Milwaukee Wi and was spun across the country from El Paso to Syracuse. They spent the fall of 2003 on
the road with Flickerstick of VH1's Bands on the Run fame and count, Dewey Beach 2004, MMC 2004, Atlantis 2002 and
New Millenium Music Fest 2002 among the notches on their showcase bedpost and we were featured on cd compilations
for all four events.
We wanted to take the opportunity and let you know about a brand new online audio community.
Studio Auditions (www.studioauditions.com) is the place, and you have the chance to check it out first on a sneak preview basis. The site is in its last beta stages but you can sign up today in advance of the official release.
