"...melding classic glam-rock ala Roxy Music, Brian Eno, and T-Rex with more updated alternative and techno flavorings and sharp, funny, politically barbed lyrics."
Jim DeRogatis, Chicago Sun Times & "Sound Opinions" on Public Radio International_____________ "On the "Queer Punk Folder" (Q Ear Music), their third album, Boys' Entrance takes listeners back to punk's glory days, when grinding guitars backed screechy vocals while cheesy keyboards whirred. It was a time of do-it-yourself experimentation, and Boys' Entrance reflects that diversity by channeling many influences on this short, seven-song album. The most prominent riffs are reminiscent of the Ramones, though Blondie also come to mind. Vocally, singer-songwriter Tim Cain takes cues from Richard Hell and DEVO.
Lyrics are half the fun on the Queer Punk Folder. Cain's title track delights in ridiculing the petty intolerance of visitors to an obscure on-line discussion group. Other tracks offer social critiques as well. "Basher" condemns skinheads. The album brims with same-sex odes to frustration and longing. "I Only Wanted Love"perfectly sums up the classic punk experience, rife with ostracism, bereft of compassion.
This uncompromising band isn't everyone's cup of tea. To quote from the album, "We don't wanna break through, we don't wanna cross over."- Ernie Glam, The Village Voice ____________
David Bowie meets the Cure meets Brian Eno meets Depeche Mode meets Green Day meets T Rex meets Hedwig and the Angry Inch meets NIN meets Duran Duran.
Award winning musician, Tim Cain's 17 year musical oddessy called, Boys' Entrance. TUNNELVISION, a cd of all new B.E. songs is still in the works.-----------------------------------
BILLBOARD'S Larry Flick chose FLASH (1997 version) as a "Rock Tracks" single of the week. He wrote:
" Cain takes a pause from his regular stint as the lead singer of queer-rock outfit Boys' Entrance to concoct a solo tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales. His words are gratefully straightforward and clearly heartfelt, while a galloping beat provides necessary urgency. Cain's tenor has a crackling intensity that leaves you wanting to hear more. Of equal interest is the additional cut, "Requiem", which was penned in memory of the late Freddie Mercury."--------------

Hot off the presses, "Out and Proud in Chicago", Tracy Baim, Editor on Surrey Press- the companion book to WTTW's documentary series about Queer History in Chicago. Boys' Entrance are very proud to be recognized as "Chicago's first queer boy rock band" (page 174). There is a lovely picture of me (top); lead guitarist, Cie Fletcher (middle); and rhythm guitarist, Mike Ferro (bottom). I am so proud of the music and history we made together.---------------------------
Save the date , April 7th, at Big Chick's in Chicago, Tim Cain will open for old friend, Jon Ginoli of Pansy Division! This will be a great, rare show.-------------

Thanks for the message. Your music is really excellent, love the originality as well as the Bowie and a few other influences I detected. Will be coming back for more!
Redlemon and New Social Voyeurs is taking a stand again! We are very proud to release our brand new pro-love and pro-gay marriage music video for "Fly"! The song features the amazing saxophone of Jay Davidson (who plays with Whitney Houston, Cinderella, Tower of Power, and many others), and the amazing vocals of Charlene Holloway (Chaka Khan and many others), and Sonya Klinger (an up-and-coming wunderkind who hits and holds the amazingly moving high note at the end!).
In a blatant attempt at agitprop mass manipulation, the music video features incredibly cute photographs of cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies, as well as evocative photographs supporting the long-time historical existence of gay marriage from Creative Commons. Some of the historical images point to past instances of church-administered gay marriages and well-known gay married saints. From Redlemon, "Fly (the End of Wars)", on iTunes, and on MySpace under NewSocialVoyeurs.
