As hip-hop phenom duo, Bracy & ID prepare to release their debut album STEP IN THE ARENA; the crowd anxiously awaits their star-studded entrance. Will Bracy and Ian Davis, known to their artistic peers and their many admirers as Bracy & ID, formed this duo in late 2004, bringing together both their rhyming and production talents.
Since then, through programming at BUMP records, hard work, and honing of their skills, they have grown into matured, technically and artistically sound performers and producers. Their musical journey began for both in the home, where they would both listen avidly to the sounds that they enjoyed. They met through BUMP, and became admirers of each other's talents. Forming a community of artist friends and peers like group LEAGUE 510, Chapp, Young Ivy, and other stars who have come through BUMP, Bracy & ID are now ready to step out from the crowd and into the arena of stardom and musical success.
Not only is this duo interested in the state of hip hop, they are interested and concerned about the state of music. Drawing inspiration from old school soul acts like Willie Hutch and Curtis Mayfield to hip hop bigwigs like Jay Z and Rakim to rock legends like Journey, Bracy & ID's catalogue of music enjoyed and created has versatility difficult to rival. Step in the Arena's production is a mix of Bracy's potent and catchy instrumentation showing the span of his growth as a producer, and ID's seasoned skills in sampling known and unknown music and transforming it into a style completely unique to the group. The lyrics are multi-dimensional ranging from the apathetic ear of the modern-day listener to the incredibly relatable tales of their experiences in Oakland, CA.
