Elvis Costello, Aimee Mann, Pete Townshend, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Band, The Beatles, Mulatu Astatqe, Emmylou Harris, Keith Moon, Woody Allen, Elliot Smith, Manu Kache, Kim Barlow, Bill Murray, Bruce Springsteen, Bill Hicks, Omar Hakim, Michael Penn, Amy Sedaris, Paul Simon, Tenacious D, Stevie Wonder, HST, Neil Finn, Stewart Copeland, Jim Bryson, Monty Python, Simon Phillips, Pink Floyd, Joe Morello, Bill Cosby, Drive by Truckers, Neil Young, Spinal Tap and all the people I'm fortunate enough to play with.
I am a singer/songwriter and drummer/percussionist. I am also an actor/screenwriter/comedian. I am left-handed. I am a person who writes with slashes...
As a musical sideman, I have played the drums for a wide variety of projects, covering rock, jazz, country, folk, blues and electronica. I have played and/or (another one!) recorded with Les Singes Bleus, The Last Metro, Band of Outsiders, Claire Jenkins, Peter Katz, The Jane Waynes, Melisa Devost, Elana McMurtry, The New Black, Eve Goldberg and Evalyn Parry.
With my own songwriting, I am trying to create songs that reward repeated listening-that have lyrical depth but catchy, accessible melodies.
That is my goal/dream/desire/wish.
I had a hoop of fun hanging out with you at eaglewood, Brad! That was a lovely 'campfire by the tent': you, me & Omer. Owl & Fish is beautiful! (is that the song title?)
PS, Upon reflection, I have come to realize that hairy is the new shaved chest... and one doesn't NEED spandex to rawk out, and so I won't mention it again!! :)
holy poopflingers, is there ever a whole whack of new stuff to peep at my, uh, myspace. most importantly, a few tunes from the new album "tiny increments" have been loaded up, some new pix (there's one of an otter with a funny hat on saying "bad hair day" ROTFL), and well...please stop on by sometime and see for yourself.
Hey Brad...great work on Daniel's album...I'm just loving the track I've heard so far...beautiful singing and heavy drumming...love it! All the best, Tracy xo
dear mr. chip-dropper, i'm having a good time with my lady-friends in the cabin, but there are large flying rodents in the air (batty). the hot dogs are glorious. looking forward to seeing your snacks again. love. amos
where are you? looks like i'll be in town sunday, july 22. probably downtown by 8:30pm. will you be around? i'm playing a corporate with CJ on the monday, then home on tuesday...would be great to hook up!
i didn't understand the canada day comment. whats happening? on the road with dusty bentall, currently up in grand prairie, alberta! hope to see you soon. best, geoff
yes! like the word-picture-word-picture-word game (as it's called), only I don't have one of those fancy pen-mouses that graphic designers use with their computers. So here's another parlour game... question-answer-question-answer-question (equally provocative title). P'haps we could cut'n'paste 'em to other party goers such as Evalyn, etc, and see how (and where) the questions end up.
May the festivities never end!! To the cyber livingroom! hurrah rah!
What if you heard through your mouth?
What if leisure were legislated?
What if row houses folded up like paper dolls?
What if our heads were made of tin cans and our hands made of string?
What if a deja-vuist were a six digit profession?
What if peppermint were hallucinagenic?
What if a deja-vuist were a... wait a minute, didn't I already answer that one?
What if politicians had to answer math word problems everytime they went to the bathroom, and they always had to take a buddy with them?
What if porcupine quills were made of q-tips?
What if roses smelled like peanut butter?
What if high heel shoes made you shorter?
What if the telephone were replaced with yodelling?
What if dogs could fly?
What if money tasted like licorice?
What if your ears were on your knees?
What if noon and midnight switched places?
looks like i'll be in T.O for canada day with CJ. please, let's hang. AND, from out of the blue, our old pal Grainne myspaced me from ireland! what crazy shit
