About me:
Myspace was kind of fun for a while because it brought old friends together. The structure of the site was always kind of shady, but since it was by some surreptitious guy named "Tom", we gave him a break - poor script can always be remedied.
Over the past two years, however, Myspace has been taken over by Robert Murdoch's News Corp. and has added nothing but misogynistic and consumer driven advertising. With social networking sites saturating the servers of the internet, Myspace has become an irrelevant and ultimately silly toy of Fox Media.
That said, I will be deleting this myspace account and encourage you to do the same. Myspace and sites like it were meant to benefit the user, not the owner. But with a sale price of $580 million, advertising is the only way that such a purchase was justified.
If you want to meet up with friends, call them on the phone and meet at a local coffee shop. Want to find old friends? Use a (for now) independent and ad-limited networking site like Facebook.
