Brad Theriot, a 14 year old from South Louisiana has been playing guitar for 5 years. From the beginning, it was like he had been playing for years. He was truly born to play!
In June of 2008, Brad’s mom was watching the Dr. Phil Show when Deborah Gibson appeared on the show and explained about her new “Camp Electric Youth”, a performing arts camp in Hollywood, CA. When Dr. Phil said that he was going to give scholarships, his mom quickly got online and wrote a letter about Brad. Knowing that The Dr. Phil Foundation was a big supporter of inspiring kids to find their way in life and hearing Deborah’s sincere words, his Mom began praying for a miracle to happen for Brad. Deborah herself called telling them that Brad had been awarded a trip to Hollywood and full tuition to her camp from the Dr. Phil Foundation. Brad left Louisiana with little confidence in himself or belief in dreams coming true and returned believing in miracles and the talent he has within.
His next amazing opportunity came when he attended the Deborah Gibson Electric Youth performing arts camp in New York City over the Christmas holidays! Having never been to New York, Brad was able to experience the amazement of the city itself while also learning from the best at camp!
Very seldom writing his own music before the camp, Brad is now on his 13th original. His original music is inspirational, coming straight from the heart, with a Southern Country Rock feel. Brad’s music roots go back to his grandmother, Patricia. Her family was very naturally musically talented.
Brad has also had the amazing opportunity to have Mark Duet as his mentor. Having Mark to guide Brad in this business has meant so much to Brad's entire family. Mark has taken Brad under his wing and introduced him to numerous South Louisiana musicians. One in particular, Waylon Thibodeaux!! What a talented and focused artist! Waylon has worked with Brad to help him record his two originals and he will be recording more. With the help of Mark and Waylon, Brad has seen not only talent, but the giving natural of south Louisiana musicians up close. Southern hospitality has it's name for many reasons, in the music industry in the south - it really owns it's name.
Brad’s motto is “Always Believe in Yourself and in Your Dreams, because sometimes… they come true!”
I am an avid supporter of the "Voice of the Wetlands". Being from South Louisiana, I know how important the wetlands are to this area. Please support VOW in any way you can - help us save South Louisiana!!!

Always aim higher than you believe you can reach. So often, you'll discover that when your talents are set free by your imagination, you can achieve any goal.
If people offer their help or wisdom as you go through life, accept it gratefully. You can learn much from those who have gone before you. But never be afraid or hesitant to step off the accepted path and head off in your own direction if your heart tells you that it's the right way for you.
Always believe that you will ultimately succeed at whatever you do, and never forget the value of persistence, discipline, and determination.
You are meant to be whatever you dream of becoming.
