Brad graduated from the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art where students are admitted on the basis of potential and achievement, as demonstrated in a demanding and competitive audition, and a review of their academic records. Initially, he was an Art major, but while there he turned his focus to music after being inspired by other Art majors who were also musicians. Brad has evolved into a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger, drummer, educator and artist.
Brad’s original compositions are soulful and passionate songs that recall a time when poetic lyrics were giving the same attention as the melody itself. These songs should be appreciated individually and not just a continuation of a style or genre. Please support and enjoy his first CD release, “In The Park”.
Some of Brad’s most notable accomplishments include playing drums for Little Sammy and Midnite Slim band and the Little Sammy Davis Blues Band since 1993. In 1995 the band released the dynamite I Ain’t Lyin’ album on which he co-wrote “Devil’s Trail” and “I-Man Stomp”. In 2000, the band released the highly acclaimed Ten Years and Forty Days album featuring “Fine Lookin’ Woman” which he co-wrote with Little Sammy. During the period of 1993–2000 they were the house band for the syndicated radio talk show, Imus In The Morning, carried in over 70 cities reaching some 20 million listeners.
During the period 1998-2000 Brad played drums with the Beki Brindle Band. He played drums with the Cactus Hunters, whom released two albums: Cactus Hunters in 2003 and Something Gone in 2005. He also has album credits for work released on Delmark Records, 45 Years of Jazz and Blues and This is the Blues Harmonica, Vol.2.
Brad has played with many of the fine musicians who have graced The Midnight Ramble Sessions at Levon Helm Studios. There are just too many to mention them all here. The Midnight Ramble Sessions players’ credentials speak for themselves. In addition, he plays and continues to support most of the open mic events throughout the Hudson Valley and has been a long time resident of the Hudson Valley since 1972.
Brad offers instructions for drums, piano, and guitar.
