About me:
..
I have always had an interest in art and music. And it has came somewhat easy to me. At a very early age I was able to draw things that I see. And copy songs I knew on a keyboard. My parents are the biggest influence on me because they have supported me unconditionally throughout the process. In early grade school they got me a saxophone and I started learning in school band. Roy got a bass and eventually a guitar by eighth grade. And we would mess around on it and learn songs. Once I got to high school my musical interest were changing. So I traded my sax for a guitar. And thats where it all started. Me and Roy started out learning basic rock songs from bands like Nirvana and Rage Against the Machine. Then we got into blues and started playing open mics with our good friend from school James Paul. Eventually we formed a band with Roy's uncle and a drummer Al Shearer called the Elektrik Trybe. We played many gigs around the peoria area leading up to our biggest gig at the 2001 Peoria Blues Fest. After high school we started getting into jazz and thats when we met Pony. And later Brandon Mooberry on bass. I feel so privelidged that I get to play in a band with people that are not only such excellent musicians but also my really good friends. And I think, although each of our musical tastes are different, there is definately a commonality between what we look for in music. We have played many awesome gigs and I think we all are down to play many many more. I feel lucky to know that we all have the same goal in mind. I am influenced by every person I meet. And that has caused a huge growth in my muscial spectrum. Right now I am especially into jazz and soul music. I also love what is happening with the jam band festival scene. And it has helped our band more than anything. Music is art and art is life. I respect all forms of art just as I respect all forms of life. And that has been my creative driving force.
