BRAIN WASHINGTON 7" - "L.S.D. /BAD ACID" released on DEATH POP RECORDS.. Two cuts feature here 'L.S.D.’ and ’Bad Acid,' which we are led to believe should shortly be surfacing plastered onto two sides of seven inch wax via those dudes of rawk; Death Pop Records... 'L.S.D.’ sounds like some raw ‘n’ atonal freaked ‘n’ f**ked -up heads-down wig-flipped brew, cooked up by a shit-faced coming together of HAWKWIND, MC5 and THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS with the eternally-admired MUMMIES, screwing things up on the mixing desk; a primitive wah-wah effects-laden sonic flashback liberally festooned with all manner of tripping-psyche-induced-beatnik-boogie and insidiously touched by a general coming apart at the seams charm. A bit of a retarded retro nugget if you ask me. .. ’BAD ACID' is your sumptuously shimmering sub three minute slice of shade-wearing two chord goo, that in its ridiculously brief passage of time manages to nod towards classic era Detroit garage and the flamboyance of glam T-REX, and yet somehow cleverly shoehorns between them elements of late 60’s white-out-psych tastily dusted and scratched by some neat slabs of primal mid 60’s beat groove. Did we also mention it’s a bit horny - well it is in a kind of wasted ‘kool thing’ era SONIC YOUTH face-off with MUDHONEY type way. Essential in case you were wondering. ..
