Glenn Branca was born on October 6th 1948 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He started to play guitar in his mid-teens, and studied theatre in the early 70's at Emerson College, Boston. In 1975 he co-founded the 'experimental' theatre group 'Bastard Theater', which produced two shows before Branca moved to New York. Here he played in two bands, 'Theoretical Girls' and 'The Static' between 1977 and 1979.
The 80's saw Branca begin to compose works for small guitar ensembles, which led on to his Symphonies, written for guitar orchestras and percussion (as well as making use of several very modified electric guitars). It is probably for these that he is most well known. Members of Swans, Sonic Youth and Helmet are amongst the many who performed with him on these works.
Symphony 7 saw Branca writing for a conventional orchestra, and he has also written choral pieces and a film sountrack. Symphony 13, a work for 100 guitars, has been performed several times, and Symphony 14 has been unleashed on the world by a quartet including Branca and his wife, Regina Bloor.

Hiya. :) It's NuM again with a new creation... The track's called Skeptical and recreates the reflexions of many in regard to religions nowadays. Please listen and enjoy, and if you have some time tell me what do you think about it. Comments are greatly appreciated.
Frogwomen’s last album is just water under the bridge and only the disrespectful de large could encourage him to create a new one… it is a one-song record which symbolically lasts 66. 6 minutes.
Satan worshipping and overused topic in pop music is just the straw that allowed the struggle between the two artists to begin: a patchwork of microsongs in which each one of them tries to annihilate the other’s style, a record that ranges between love ditties, doom-noise cants, and irreverent & wild tarantellas (ehm.... maybe i’m overstating now). .
