My interests include reading (non-fiction, folklore, history, occult matters), music (esp. independent, electro), travel, sketch comedy, independent film, museums, symphony and opera (especially baroque), home decorating, yoga, (indoor) gardening, and of course my favourite radio show, Coast to Coast AM. Also, as I already mentioned above, I'm very interested in philosophy, metaphysics, psychic phenomena, and esoteric matters such as the occult. Somehow, I've found the liberty to maintain these interests outside an academic framework.
Above all, I love travel. I'm resolved to tour Europe and Asia before I die.

I'm an ESL tutor and student of linguistics, English literature, and history living in Vancouver. My interests are a diverse melange and range from cutting edge to vintage, plush to metallic, kitschy to sublime. I enjoy music, travel, outdoor recreation, the arts, sketch comedy, independent film, folk literature, and anything to do with language.
Also, I enjoy clubbing and dancing, but I seldom find a club I'd want to go to, since precious few in this desolate continent play the thoughtful, well-written, well-orchestrated, clever, creative, fun, funky, melodic, moving, provocative, punchy style of dance music I prefer. Three Coronas won't change my mind about that. I usually end up having to go to a goth club, or Europe, to hear the music I like, and I'm not even goth (although my tastes overlap with theirs).
I'm pretty eccentric to the average Canadian and have a bizarre, tongue-in-cheek sense of humour which most people don't understand, and this is reflected in my tastes. I must admit that I do have a penchant for sarcasm, but let me clarify that it is the harmless, fun sort of sarcasm, not the stinging, hurtful sort. I'm actually a very sensitive, caring, empathetic person.
I'm also philosophical and extremely curious. The mysteries of life and the universe have never ceased to amaze me. I've always been fascinated by paranormal and spiritual matters.
Basically, I'm an unclassifiable freak show.
I'd like to make all sorts of friends from around the world. The kind of people I'd like to get to know are laid back, liberal, well educated, thoughtful, spontaneous, and curious about their environment. I would also like to get hitched some day before I go pushing up daisies. (I'm not into necrophilia. Now, necromancy, that's different....) Plenty of fish in the sea, they say. So I'm fishing. More like trawling for cod.
"Which American accent do you have?"
Which American accent do you have?
Your Result: The West
Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to make all sorts of friends from around the world. The kind of people I'd like to get to know are laid back, liberal, well educated, thoughtful, and curious about the world around them. I would also like to get hitched some day, before I start pushing up daisies. (I'm not into necrophilia. Now, necromancy....) Plenty of fish, they say. So I'm fishing. More like trawling for cod.
