Influences
My music is deeply rooted in the world of the great Cajun masters like
Dewey Balfa and The Balfa Brothers, Nathan Abshire, Dennis McGee, Octa
Clark, Cheese Reed, D.L. Menard, Canray Fontenot and Bois Sec Ardoin. To the
soulful whispers of the great legends of Country music such as George Jones,
Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and Kitty Wells. With our great ties in Appalachian
and Bluegrass legends such as The Stanley Bothers, Melvin Wine, Bruce
Molsky, and the Great Tommy Jarell.

Born and raised in Basile LA, Brandon's love
of the Balfa style runs deep in his own style. Learning to Play
Fiddle from his grandfather Vories Moreau and Vocals from his Father Kim Moreau, Brandon has been influenced by the
prairie style from day one. His love of the fiddle came
from one of his best friends and premier fiddler,
Courtney Granger. Brandon's smooth timing and
unique fiddling are very much steeped in the Balfa style coupled with
high, soulful lyrics. Brandon captures the purest sound of
Cajun music, calling upon memories of the past. He has
played with various bands over his 12 year track in Cajun
music. In 2000 he traveled to West Virgina as a staff
musician for the Cajun music camp during the Augusta Heritage Week in Elkins West Virginia. He performed with
many artists such as Tracy Schwartz, Peter Schwartz, Balfa Toujour He
made a short tour in Chicago with Charlie and John
Terr. In 2004 he traveled to Nova Scotia for the World
Acadian congress where he played on many festival
stages. Some of the Cajun bands from Louisiana Brandon has played with include: The Dixie Club Ramblers, Blake
Miller & The New Pine Grove Boys, Acadien Cajun Band,
The Prairie Cajun Band, Scotty Pousson, Jason Frey, J.C.
Labbe, Hebert Maitre, Nonc Ally Young, Bonne Chance,
Brett "Tit Rouge" Denais, Eric O'Blanc and the Cypress
Creek Boys, plus many more.
He is currently looking for Gigs at Festival Dances Parties Ect. For Bookings or fiddle lessons please contact Brandon for rates and times: 337-432-6313

Hi BB. Merci beaucoup for the lovely evening of music at Ashkenaz. My daughter and I enjoyed it very much. We send our best to the Acadien Cajun Band, and look forward to welcoming them back here come October! I videod most of the show, so you can have them at this link: http://www.youtube.com/user/barbh1
PS: I was thinking it would be cool to bring a few bumper stickers, if you have any, to promote Cajun music over here in our area.
