Music is the divine healer. For centuries, music has been heralded as the catalyst for remedy, be it spiritual mental or even physical. Of course, music's greatest benefactors are those who enjoy its sanctity with clarity. Yet to find such sensual pleasure, the conduit must be conveyed by the highest order.
Welcome to the supreme echelon thanks to one of music's fastest-rising prophets, Vancouver, B.C.'s Brandon Paris Band. Creating the self-proclaimed Aggressive Pop Reggae (APR) sound/style thanks to their innovative amalgam of pop, rock, reggae and soul, rock doctors the Brandon Paris Band have been tearing apart radio charts and taking over media with an attack revered as uniting the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rob Thomas, Hedley, Philosopher Kings, Barenaked Ladies and Daughtry. Not to mention a captivating live show, that when combined with their musical muscle forges unforgettable harmonies delivered by emotive, sensual vocalists and a commanding band.
“The diversity of our backgrounds and influences when mixed together creates a unique sound,” notes Paris. “We have two vocalists that front the band which is engaging both audibly and visually. The singing styles of both singers are completely different but compliment each other incredibly well when combined with catchy melodies and danceable beats. We feel the reggae element in our pop/rock/soul style gives us a signature sound with songs that don’t sound like we are re-writing the same song over and over.”
The Brandon Paris Band understands the invigorating power of music all too well. Embracing the craft as a means of escaping a haunting past, the sextet has seen their musical prowess and appreciation grow exponentially since forming in 2002. Upbeat and charismatic, Brandon Paris Band's independent sophomore effort Pocket Full Of Holes (distributed by Fontana North) captures the personal struggles and inner-torment of their 2006 debut On My Own, contemplates and reorganizes its impact, resulting in a formidable blast of emotion, energy and vitality.
“Every year we all grow and go through new life experiences so our outlook is always changing from year to year,” Paris explains. “The first album was about my personal outlook; very emotional and written more about how I felt at that life-changing time rather than how I fixed it. It was written to help others who were going through the same thing by making them realize they weren’t alone and that no matter what horrible things people go through, life goes on and time does heal all wounds. By the time Pocket Full Of Holes was ready to be written my scars had healed. I have entered a new chapter in my life where am quite content with where I am in my life personally. There's more focus on enjoying life now.”
As Paris admits, finding that essential spirit was no simple task yet vital to the success of the band. Despite honing their sound since 2002, Paris band feels that they were not fully forged until the current lineup was solidified in 2007. With the inclusion of Sanheim and Jasper, the sextet could truly realize its full potential. Still, the journey was worthwhile, Pocket Full of Holes being described by critics as, “Sharp songs with a slight hip-hop awareness and a good ear for melodic but energetic rock. The band is both diverse and intelligent with a song such as “Say Goodbye’ that most modern bands would die for.”
“We believe that we were newly formed in 2007,” he states. “That was when we found the perfect ingredients for success and found our true sound. It was an organic growth. We never tried to fit into a specific genre or mimic any other artist’s style. Each band member has different musical tastes with completely separate influences but when we write a song together it mysteriously comes out into a Pop/rock/reggae fusion.”
Following up the success of On My Own, Pocket Full of Holes was recorded by Sheldon Zaharko (Billy Talent, Gob) at The Factory Studios and additional mixing credits Jeff Dawson (Daniel Powter, State of Shock). The debut single, “Say Goodbye” was mixed by Mike Fraser (AC/DC Theory of a Deadman) and mastered by Adam Ayan (Rolling Stones, Linkin Park). Already amassing countless hours of airplay across Canada, “Say Goodbye” is proving to surpass the success of previous hit “Rewind & Start Again.”
These milestones have resulted in many accomplishments for the Brandon Paris Band: charting at Top 20, over 30 radio stations still spinning their tracks as well as a nomination for Best New Group or Solo Artist at the 2007 Canadian Radio Music Awards and an internet hit with the “Say Goodbye” video—featuring a whopping four dollar budget —Brandon Paris Band is finally reaping the rewards of their divine healing.
Still, they recognize that there is much work to be done. These doctors of aural divinity are preparing to make house calls via the release of Pocket Full of Holes and a cross Canada Summer Tour in 2009.
The musical divination has begun.

"Can't Hate You" - Music Video"
"This is Brandon Paris Bands second music video release from the album "Pocket Full of Holes" called Can't Hate You. The song is generally about a guy who still loves his ex-girlfriend and wants her back. She doesn't want him back(even though she has a soft spot for him). he tries to forget her by thinking of all the things that he hates about her but is unsuccessful. This video is entirely spit screen. it starts off at the exact same place except one side the camera follows the Brandon Paris Bands journe while the other is the Girl who Brandon is in love with. Once in a while you will notice a few neat surprises of different background people and band members crossing from one side to another and all tying into the same shot. it is intellegently done. You must view this video at least 4 times to catch everything that is going on....this is what makes this video so likeable!
Enjoy the video...spread it around, and if you really like it request it on Much Music by emailing to: Much Music request: ondemand@muchmusic.com
"Say Goodbye" - Much Music Version"
"This is the brand new bigger budget Much Music video for "Say Goodbye". The original "$4 budget video" was awesome, but it wasn't at the quality it needed to be to get added to Much Music. Thanks to both our brilliant producer, Cody Mielke (Theory of a Deadman, Marianas Trench, and State of Shock) and the very talented Director, Mitch Bax and fantastic editor, Miles Forster...we were able to keep the same vibe as our first budget video...keeping it funny, real and entertaining. The story is simple but ties in nicely with the 1940's look. Enjoy the video...spread it around, and if you really like it request it on Much Music by emailing to: Much Music request: ondemand@muchmusic.com"
*This video was added to rotation on Much Music March 17th 2009. with its debut on Friday March 20th
"Say Goodbye" - Music Video"
"Say Goodbye" is the first song released from Brandon Paris Band's second album called "Pocket Full of Holes". Lead singer Brandon Paris thought it would be a good idea to put a Video on Youtube to help sell the song. The video cost $4.00 (the cost of the miniDV tape). With a DV camera and 3 lights Brandon and the band filmed a video in Marc's(keyboard player of BPB) house garage with some color backdrops used for halloween every year. Brandon Paris shot & directed the video in 1.5 hours and, and edited the video himself within one day. all Band members of the Brandon Paris Band independently funded and released this song on radio.
"Rewind & Start Again" - Music Video"
Brandon Paris Band's first music video. this video was done on a very tight budget and was too only be used until the actual video was done. it never got done though. by the time video fact was able to approve it. the video alreay peaked! timing...its all about timing folks!
