I'm the daughter of a Mississippi preacher. I was born into a talented and musically inclined home. I attended my father’s church in a small, southern, Mississippi town from the age of two. Music has always been an integral part of my life. As a young girl, singing came naturally to me. I began playing the piano, organ, drums and keyboard for church services, and eventually became the music director and lead singer. Although, I was practically reared in church, this did not stop my wild side from emerging. My rebel spirit would take me to places to hang with people who did not meet my dad’s approval. My passion has always been singing and recording music. I met New York City songwriter/producer, Ken Cedar, who wrote and produced my first two songs – Daughter of a Mississippi Preacher and What’s Mine is Yours. The mid-temp Daughter of a Mississippi Preacher describes my childhood experience of being a preacher’s kid, singing in church, living my wild teenage years, and loving music. What’s Mine is Yours is a beautiful 12/8 ballad celebrating a thoroughly devoted love and is destined to become a classic wedding song. I have a wide variety of musical influences and that shows in my singing. My style prompted someone to label my genre Country Soul. It is a style that is instantly recognizable, yet at the same time, very appealing.
